MY FIVE ESSENTIAL T-SHIRTS

As you all know from my outfit posts, grams & now snapchat/instagram snaps T-shirts are my jam. I would say 4/7 days I would be in a tee of some sort so I thought it was about time I spoke about my favourite types of t-shirts and their purpose.

This is a must, especially with this season being all about layering tees under anything. But there are certain types of tees that work best for this.

- Fit is essential with this tee - go fitted & crew neck.
- Avoid boxy shapes to stop too much fabric bunching under your over-garment.
- Depending on your body type aim for either a cap sleeve or a longer, more fitted sleeve.
- Stick to these tees in solid tones or simple stripes.
- Wear under slips, camisoles, dungarees & full skirts

This classic will change for everyone depending on your body type/personal preference. For me, my classic needs to have a high neck line (usually crew neck) and a boxy silhouette.

- Get this in every colour, even multiples
- Pay attention to fabrics. Personally I love a 100% Cotton or a Cotton/Linen Blend. They don't cling or drape but are more relaxed in style. A rayon blend usually drapes more around your body.
- Love wearing this style with denim, jeans, a-line skirts etc.

I think a lot of people are scared of a graphic tee but it is one of my favourite ways to communicate my mood. I remember a few years ago I was about to do my first big speech in front of a cinema full of industry people and I was terrified. So I popped on a Hansen & Gretel tee which had in huge bold font 'CEASE FIRE' - I felt it was fitting.

- Keep it simple
- Keep it bold
- Keep it witty & smart
- French is always a good idea

This style of tee needs no introduction. My personal favourite stripe is navy with equal ratio of stripe to white space but I have also been loving a red stripe of late.

- Get your stripes in all tees- short, 3/4 and long shapes.
- Pair back with pretty much anything.
- If you're feeling up to it, add a polka dot into the mix but stick with the same colour way.
- My favourite way to wear this is with an a-line midi skirt *am I french yet?

This tee solves my only problem with tees, sometimes they just aren't dressy enough for some occasions. This is where a special kind of tee comes in handy.

- Look for fabrics that have a unique texture like silks, lace or mesh.
- Go for something that has more of a drape to the shape of the tee
- Stay away from any graphics
