Earlier this year we rushed a move into our new home before leaving for Europe. Upon our return I realised that we had the perfect amount of furniture for our previous two bedroom unit might not cut it now in our 3 bedroom house with extra sun-room. As amazing as this space is, I am now in the middle of planning a few extra pieces to fill it. Honestly, most weeks my house can resemble chaos. I normally tear apart the room which has the best light at X time for shoots or painting. (thank you Michael for being so patient) But within the chaos I like to have little nooks in the house that I can feel calm in. Whether it is my bed, my creative desk (not the desk piled with tax receipts and packaging- it isn't Instagram worthy) or a little space to read or do some emailing.

The little corner is perfect when you don't have much space to work with. You can create one in an empty space in your house or your bedroom.

TO CREATE YOUR CORNER

1.
Focus it around one key piece of furniture. It can be a desk, bed or chair. My vote is with my new Safino Lounge Chair (slightly obsessed with the deep green velvet)

2.
Add things that inspire you. This could be artwork, prints, magazine pages, packaging, flowers etc.

3.
Add some type of flora. It can be some indoor plants, flowers or even dead flowers.

4.
Create texture. Now the chair of mine brings enough texture for my whole room but if you don't have your hands on a velvet chair, add texture with metals/materials, cushions in interesting fabrics or a throw to give some dimension to the space.
