JASMINE FOR SPORTSGIRL COLLABORATION
Imagery By Sportsgirl / Collage Edit by Me
Today has been around 7 months in the making so I am going to try not to freak out in this post. So back in December I was approached by Sportsgirl to create a capsule collection of sleepwear with them for Winter '16.
Taking a step out of my black and white comfort zone (twice in one week I am raving about colour on the blog) we came up with one of my favourite colour palettes of blush, mustard yellow, navy & grey. From there I was brainstorming themes, moods for the collection. I wanted it to be dreamy but focused on one of my favourite activities... sleeping. With a mix of my signature lettering style, I also created a new sketched brush outline typeface which is coloured in roughly to bring a relaxed yet playful feel to the collection.
One of my favourite prints to create was the ink galaxy for the navy jogger pant. My ink splatter print inspired a stardust style print with little crescent & star icons to create an ink galaxy. My winky eyes are also back in this collection, making an appearance on the grey tank in a cheeky position ;)
In collection we have everything from tees to hoodies to nightees. Perfect for not only the cooler months but to transition into spring/summer. I really could not be more proud of how this collaboration turned out. Sportsgirl has been such a dream to work with, believing in my vision for the collection and being so supportive. After all of the drama I have had this year with Australian retailers using my work without permission, it has made me so so grateful for those companies that actually approach artists to collaborate and support their local talent. Later this year I am working on another project really close to my heart with Sportsgirl for a great cause, so keep your eyes peeled.
I would love to hear & see what you think of the collection. Style, snap, tag, @ me anytime on social media to make my day!
