TIME TO PACK

THE PLAN

Where has the last 6 months gone? Michael and I are now just 3 days away from flying to Paris to travel for 6 weeks. I think the only first world problem of travelling is packing. I thought I would try be as organised as I could be considering I will be going from spring to the coastline (shit that reminds me I forgot my bikini) to a country that has the word 'ice' in its name...

I am no expert at packing but I thought I would write a post on how I am planning for 6 weeks of outfits. I started about a month ago just creating a PS file with photos of the clothes I have that I wanted to take. I then created a new layer with items I felt were missing. For example at the time I hadn't found a good boot to take, so I knew this would be something I needed to purchase before leaving. I also kept the dresses to a minimum. Just because I find you can't create a lot of different outfits with a dress so I stuck to two that either can be layered or were very versatile. Next was looking at colours, I wanted to make sure lots of different combinations could be made without clashing. Any items that couldn't be worn with multiple outfits got the flick.

The little spread below doesn't include the less-than-pretty thermals/underwear/socks etc. If you are looking for good thermals all year round check out UNIQLO as they always have them in stock at a good price.

When it comes to luggage I love a roller hard case bag. My current Samsonite Tru Frame has all these little possible compartments inside so that I can still aim to be organised. Let's be honest though it is going to be a mess after our first stop. When it comes to packing I normally try roll all of my clothes as I find it compacts them without scrunching them.
