I can not tell you how good it feels to finally have this bad boy out for you all. Hard to believe I started designing this back in December and it is now the end of March. When I first started to design and brainstorm this collection I was listening to one of my all time favourite songs - This Modern Love by Bloc Party. I wanted to capture the way that song feels in a collection. A slightly darker, more independent, modern love.
This collection also means a lot to me on a creative level. After becoming known for a certain style of brush typography and then seeing it spread like wildfire I really wanted to take myself out of my pigeonhole and push myself.
Still illustrating the artworks with just brush and ink, I was inspired by stencil typography and traditional style typefaces. I also tuned into my love of flora and experimented with scanning techniques and line illustration.
The collection has three different print sizes A4, A3 & A2 so they work perfectly stacked together and by themselves. I have also created a mixture of high grade digital printing and foil pressed prints. I have also gone all out this time around and created a double foil print, using both copper and black foil.
After months of printing delays, new website building and moving house inconveniently I am so stoked with how it turned out. I told myself at the start of designing to create what you want to surround you daily - and that is how it turned out.
