ON THE LIPS

Firstly I wanted to apologise for my absence on the blog lately, I have been all over the place with studio work at the moment that has had to take priority. Who would have thought running studio, online store, blog and social media would have taken its toll?

In other news, last week I was able to fly down to Sydney for the day to spend some time with the Clinique team and get a little makeup makeover by Rene Benkenstein. Since most of you are all familiar with my face you would probably notice that I usually go for a very simple make up look. Mostly because I don't have the time and secondly I kind of love that slightly undone look. It will normally always consist of a bronze eye, cream bronzer, highlight and lashes. So when I went down I wanted to talk to Rene about easy ways to change up my makeup while still keeping that ease and relaxed look. Of course it is with the lips.

Coming home super inspired and not wanting to wash off my face, I started to design inspiration beauty boards for the coming spring/summer. All of these looks are based on keeping your skin fresh with your usual routine for summer, but creating a whole different mood just by changing the lip up. Each of the looks can be achieved using products from Clinique's new Lip Pop Range.

ACHIEVE THIS LOOK WITH..
Ripe Pop Liquid / Cayenne Lip Liner

I thought it was only fitting that my first board mimicked the look that was created for me on the day. I feel like this is the perfect casual red. It has a slight orange base to it and you can build up the Ripe Pop Liquid Matte to be as vibrant or as muted over the top of the Intense Cayenne lip liner.

ACHIEVE THIS LOOK WITH..
Rose Pop Matte Lip Colour

I have been seeing this trend taken by Korean Beauty a lot lately. It is about a light wash of colour or even creating an ombre/bitten look. This look I think is perfect for adding some moisture back into your lips and perfect for those spring/summer days spent outside.

Achieve this look by either first applying a nude shade then blend Rose Pop from the centre outwards or applying a light tint all over and patting with you finger for more of a tint.

ACHIEVE THIS LOOK WITH..
Cake Pop Liquid / Blushing Pop Matte Lip Colour

I could have hardly created a lip trend blog post without talking about the people pleasing - nude lip. It needs no convincing - you know you need it in your life.

ACHIEVE THIS LOOK WITH..
Sweetheart Pop Liquid

This look came to me at the airport as I was sitting on the ground charging my phone. My lip by that point was coming off but I couldn't leave my phone to go to the bathroom. So instead I looked in my bag from the day and found the Sweetheart Pop. I loved the contrast with my lighter coloured eyes and bronzed eye from earlier.

ACHIEVE THIS LOOK WITH..
Flame Pop Liquid / Ruby Pop Matte Lip Colour

If the first look was casual red, this is its bolder older sister. This with a white shirt and denim and salty sand still left on my skin is all that I am dreaming about once warmer weather rolls around. It makes you look put together even if your swimmers moisture is still seeping through your shirt.

I hope this post inspires some of your spring/summer beauty in the next couple of months. I would love to know your favourite lip colour to wear in the comments too!
